History lesson 145

The first invention I learned about this week was the safety razor. King Camp Gillette invented the disposable blade for the safety razors in 1901. The safety razor makes it easier to shave by using a guard to prevent cutting. Gillette achieved success through World WAR 1 by suppling razor blades to the soldiers. Beards fall out of fashion for at least 50 years after that point.

The second invention I learned about this week was the airplane. The Wright Brothers applied they budget and knowledge from bikes to invented the airplane in 1903. The genius airplane allows you to carry cargo and people where ever you want. The Wright Brothers won an important government contract in 1908. The brilliance of the airplane revolutionized the world with shipping, travel, and business.

The third invention I learned about this week was the Vacuum Tube. John Fleming invented the vacuum tube after working for Edison and Maxwell in 1904. The vacuum tube allows current to flow in one direction only. It also acts as a amplifier. This invention helped transform the radio.

The model T was created by Henry Ford. Around the time of early 1900’s, Henry Ford created the model T. Harnessing gas as fuel, he created a car that could help the working class of America. It was created to be an affordable source of transportation to help America. Since 1870, the automobile manufacture line started to skyrocket, and creating these cars became cheap and fast. Ford left a lasting impact that still is important to this day. Without him, the modern automobile could never have happened.

The most interesting thing I learned about this week was the airplane. I found this interesting was because they wore two nobody’s, but built one of the most important form of transpiration. That was a cool thing I thought about this week.
