African civilizations
First lets start of with the geography. Africa has a very wide variety of climates. There are deserts, rainforests, plains, mountains, and so many others. The Sahara Desert is in the northwest and the Kalahari Desert is in the south. The Nile River is the longest river in the world and is the only one that runs south to north, it is located in North Africa.
The first African civilization I will talk about is Nubia, located south of Egypt on the Nile River. Their society was mostly based on trading with Arabia and The Mediterranean civilizations on the Nile River. This civilization begin iron working.
Another civilization is the Bantu Speakers who settled in southern Africa. Two other civilization’s is the bushmen which inhabited the Kalahari Desert, and the Pygmies who would live in mostly the rain forest’s. One more civilization is the people of the west of Nubia. They are could the people of Nok which developed into modern day Nigeria.
