Write 250 words on this topic: “Is the Family a Legitimate Form of Government?” Defend your position.

I personally think that family is a form of government in every way. But before we get into that, I think we should go through the five main forms of government. First there is sovereignty, which means “Who’s in charge here?” Second, there is hierarchy, which means “To whom do I report?” Third, there is law, which means, “What are the rules?” Fourth, there are sanctions, which means, “What do I get if I obey/disobey?” Fifth and finally, there is succession: “Does this outfit have a future?”

Now that I’ve gone through the five main forms of government, let’s see how family plays into it all. Parents play the role of both sovereignty and hierarchy, as they are in charge at all times. Next is law; the parents set the law as their own rules, such as curfew, screen time, chores, and much more. Then the parents set the sanctions; if you obey the rules, you get extra screen time and an extended curfew, for example. If you don’t obey the rules, they can cut the curfew and screen time back. Finally, to answer the fifth form of succession, I think that as long as the mother and father fulfill their roles as parents, I believe that the family will remain an effective form of government.

Overall I believe that family shows all five main forms of government and is a form of government that will not fail. I would like to take the time and thank you for reading my essay.
