Choose any two of the civilizations that we studied in our world tour and write about the similarities or differences in their development.
India and Europe are two places that I have learned a fair amount about in the last two weeks of 7th grade history. India is located east to some of the other places I have learned in the last few weeks. Europe is a large island made mostly of forests.
In India there is a place called Indus valley. Some of the first people in Indus valley had an astounding civilization. They built cities like Harappa and Mohenjo-Dara and they built these places near 1500 AD. There was a very powerful man named Chandragupta Maurya he took all the power and started the Mauryan empire near 321 BC. The Mauryan empire was doing there best because of the large amount of people. It also help that they had the best government they have ever had before.
In Europe we mainly focused on the Celts which are the people who mostly lived in Europe. The Celts controlled most of Europe actually prior to 0 AD before they stayed in Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. The Celts were the predominant tribe until the roman empire. These Celts are known as the Hallstatt period. When the next period started all of the Celts were then referred to as the La Te’ne. When that period started it was time they expanded more and more into Ireland, Moravia, Thrace, and Portugal.
Some of the differences of India and Europe are there religion. The the India’s believed in Hinduism and Buddhism. Well the Europe Celt’s believed in Pantheism. A similarity is that India did not keep any written records behind and neither did the Celts live any written records behind. I hope you enjoyed my essay. Thank you for reading.
