English lesson 30

Using the information you have learned from Wulf and the other Saxons in the book, what was Saxon culture like? Was it different for the wealthy than for the poor? You can use examples from the book to make your points. You can also compare the Saxon way of life with the other cultures in the book, like the Normans.

According to the book, living in poverty was not ideal in Saxon society because, as depicted in Wulf the Saxon, those in need were not treated well at all.

The rich folks of Saxon culture did not really care how they treated they enemies. Because they would treat them as though they weren’t deserving of their sympathy.

The regular people in Saxon are like people today. They will just do or follow whatever stupid thing everyone is doing. They will do whatever the government says and did not care weather it was right or wrong.

The only real differences between the Normans and the Saxons were that the Normans were slightly more generous toward their less fortunate people and had slightly more insane governments. They also didn’t seem to care if their decisions caused harm to anyone.

Being a Saxon would have been very strange since everyday tasks, such as making weapons for the army or taking water from a well, were very different from what we are use to today. I hope you liked my essay. Thank you for reading.
