Business 1 lesson 60

Write 250 words. Topic: “Which three time-allocation changes could increase my productivity the most. Why?”

My three time allocations are replacing random work with fixed work, cutting transition time, and reducing open free time. These are the three most important things I can do to increase my productivity. These changes will allow me to waste less time and to get more done.

My first allocation is to replace random work with fixed work. By setting a few scheduled blocks of deep work time (60-90 mins) where I only do one important thing, I can cut down on wasted time. By not using my phone or trying to multitask, this increases my productivity because my brain will not be jumping back and forth between tasks but instead staying focused on one task.

My second allocation is to cut transition time. You can lose a lot of time just switching between things: phone to homework, video games to homework, back to the phone, then to homework again. By grouping these similar tasks together, my brain will be able to stay in focus mode much longer.

Finally, my third allocation is to reduce open free time. Instead of just saying, “I’ll play this game for a few minutes” or “I’ll work on school till I stop,” but rather set specific times. This means for things like YouTube (30 mins), math (1 hour), or gaming (45 mins). By doing this, I won’t waste my time gaming for 2 hours or watching YouTube for an hour. Without limits, my free time expands and I waste my productive time.

Overall, by doing these three time allocations, I can become much more productive and not waste my time.
