Business 1 lesson 65

Writing assignment: 250 words. “I will sell my business when it makes a profit of [$??] a year, so that I can [??].”

I will sell my business when it makes a profit of 100,000 dollars a year so that I can retire early and enjoy life. I do have two conditions before selling it. My first condition is I would at least like to sell it for worth every year of my income. So depending on the success of my business, I may be able to sell in less than ten years. Then my second condition is I want to still be a part-time manager. My plan to value the sale of my business is based on my annual profit. This means that if my business earns 100,000 dollars per year, I would aim to sell it for an amount based on how many years of profit the buyer is willing to pay. My goal is to sell by my sixth year, so 600,000 dollars.

After my sale of 600,000 dollars, you might think I just let the new owners do their thing. But no, I would like to stay on as a part-time manager of the business. I would still like to help the business grow and make important decisions so it doesn’t go out of business. I would also do this because 600,000 dollars is not enough to retire on. Not only this, but I will work part-time so that I can focus on my family, hobbies, and the things I enjoy. I will eventually sell my business and fully retire.
